At 25 years old, Niyonagize Rachel is turning her passion for technology and entrepreneurship into a growing business. Her curiosity about technology began at an early age, when she was fascinated by devices such as phones and radios. Today, she enjoys researching computers, following new technology trends, and exploring tools such as artificial intelligence.

After graduating in 2024, Rachel began searching for professional opportunities and gaining experience through internships. At the same time, she was developing an idea for an agribusiness. Through SheCreates she received the training and support she needed to take that idea forward and begin running her own business. Rachel joined SheCreates in October 2026, a 12-month program designed to empower young women aspiring to become entrepreneurs. 

Today, Rachel runs Agro VetFarmer Ltd in Kabuga, Rwanda, an agribusiness supplying veterinary medicines, agricultural products, and basic livestock health support services. She chose this area because she wanted to build a business that responds to farmers’ needs while creating an opportunity for her to grow as an entrepreneur.

Her long-term vision is to combine this business with her passion for technology by developing a digital platform that will connect customers with agricultural and veterinary products and services. She sees Agro VetFarmer Ltd as the foundation for a larger vision: a digital platform that will eventually connect farmers and other customers to agricultural and veterinary products and services.

Before joining SheCreates, one of Rachel’s biggest challenges was a lack of information about the business world. Through the fellowship, she gained practical skills in budgeting, financial tracking, branding, and financial management, which she is now able to apply directly to her business.

One session that particularly stayed with her was financial literacy, especially the lessons on budgeting and saving. The training helped her understand how to manage her finances more effectively and make better decisions for her business.

She also experienced a significant change in her confidence. Rachel is now more comfortable engaging in conversations with other business owners, including competitors, and discussing her business. The knowledge she gained has helped her think through challenges, understand what is happening around her business, and identify areas where she can become stronger.

“SheCreates has become a bridge to becoming an entrepreneur,” Rachel shares.

Beyond the business skills, Rachel values the relationships she built through the fellowship. Connecting with other young women entrepreneurs has given her a supportive network of people she can reach out to for advice, encouragement, and new opportunities.

Looking ahead, Rachel hopes to see Agro VetFarmer Ltd become more stable, expand through additional shops, and create employment for three to four more people. She also hopes to launch her digital platform, making agricultural and veterinary products more accessible to farmers, closer to their communities, and at affordable prices.
