Career Mentorship Program
Our mentorship program is the core of our work, equipping young people with the skills, guidance, and confidence they need to build their own paths forward.

Growing Together
Growing Together is a leadership and mentorship initiative that brings together young Quakers across East Africa to strengthen relationships, deepen their faith, and develop the skills to lead positive change in their meetings and communities.
What Participants Receive:
- Explore Quaker values, leadership, community engagement, and service.
- Connect with experienced Quaker leaders and young Friends from across East Africa.
- Cross-border collaborations, conferences, and fellowship events.
Economic Empowerment Programs
EmpowerHer
EmpowerHer provides young women with vocational skills, entrepreneurship training, and mentorship to help them launch sustainable businesses and improve household income. To date, 39 women have been through the program.
Participants receive:
- Vocational training scholarships for six months with a DWA certificate
- Mentorship
- Peer learning circles
- Networking opportunities
SheCreates Fellowship
SheCreates is a one-year entrepreneurship fellowship that equips young women with the knowledge, confidence, and financial tools needed to start and grow small businesses. To date, 20 fellows have been through the fellowship.
Program includes:
- Six-month entrepreneurship training
- Seed funding
- One-on-one mentorship
- Networking opportunities
Ubugeni Bwomora (Art That Heals)
For young people aged 14–19 living with HIV
Ubugeni Bwomora uses art, storytelling, and creative expression to help HIV‑positive youth process stigma, trauma, and isolation, and build self‑acceptance, resilience, and hope. Led by Agape Ishimwe, who himself grew up living with HIV, this program creates a safe, judgement‑free space where young people discover that their lives are more than their diagnosis.
What participants receive:
- Art‑based therapy sessions (painting, sculpture, performance)
- Storytelling and creative writing workshops
- Mental health and peer support
- Identity and self‑acceptance work
- Community and belonging

Frequently Asked Questions
Are FCC programs free?
Most FCC programs are offered at no cost thanks to the generous support of our funding partners. Our Career Mentorship Program has a modest participation fee to help cover program delivery and resources. Financial assistance may be available for participants with demonstrated need.
Who can participate?
Eligibility varies by program. Some programs are designed for students, while others focus on young professionals, entrepreneurs, women, or Quaker youth.
Where are programs offered?
Programs are delivered in Rwanda, Canada, and online, depending on the program.
Do I need to be Quaker?
No. FCC welcomes participants from all backgrounds. While some faith-based leadership initiatives are designed specifically for Quaker youth, most of our programs are open to everyone.
What languages are programs offered in?
Programs are offered in English, Kinyarwanda, and French, depending on the program location and participants.
